About DEIHERM

DEIHERM is an NGO inaugurated in 1990. This organization was registered at the Department of Social Services as a voluntary organization in 1992. The registration Number of this organization is 19G/ 92, and the Board of Directors comprises the Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary, and 14 other Executive Committee members. The organization involves in development activities regardless of ethnicity, religion, race, age, territory, appearance, or gender. DIHERM collaborates with NGOs, privet sector, public sector, and estate sector organizations. It grants its services to deprived communities and engages in Early childhood development, promoting back-to-school programs for School dropouts and non-school-going children, child protection, youth development, environment protection, and eradication of dangerous drugs, alcohol, and other addictions such as NCD Issues, Child, Women and Human rights promotion, Small and medium entrepreneurship development, strengthening civil rights, good governance, Skills development, preventing of STDs, HIV/AIDS, and SRHR, Promotion of peace though ethnic harmony and non-violence, social and economic development of TEA ESTATE sector labor community and fishery communities, Agriculture and agroforestry, Food safety and security, provision of public water supply and sanitary, improving health and nutrition, Participatory rural development, Savings, and credit programmers, training and advocacy and promotion of Media and communication for human rights protection.

Partnerships with International Organizations

DEIHERM launched several projects with international organizations such as UNDP, Save the Children, ILO-SIYB, Southern Provinces Rural Economic Advancement Project (SPREAP), PRACTICAL ACTION, USAID, IUCN, WUSC, and Commonwealth Education.

Local partnerships

Specific programs were executed with the collaboration of local partners. They are Dimuthu child and youth Association (DCYA), Teenager’s network of Srilanka (Teens Net), Thurunudiwiya development foundation (T D F) and Shobashakthi environmental network (SEN).

National consultants

Our organization received inputs from many external consultants for implementing projects with relevant expertise inputs. These consultants are selected from professionals and intellectuals from leading Universities, International Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations, Private Sector, Government Sector, and Community Base Organizations.
