Youth

Deiherm is an organization with a unique passion for training and research as a development educational institution. Since 1990, an organization with a thorough understanding of participatory training in association with various National Development Network Organizations in Sri Lanka. An organization with experience in many types of training such as data collection and analysis, capacity building training, community participation community needs assessment, participatory analysis, organization of workshops and conferences, community animation, camping training, exclusion training, psychosocial training, etc. Those fields have many human resources with knowledge and experience.

Deiherm also ran a Vocational Training Center that conducted skill-based training at the Vocational Training Center for several years. It also took steps to provide jobs to 580 youths under various sectors. In addition to this, several social science researches were also contributed.

A healthy country- tomorrow for you
The original foundation of Deiherm youth programs was the Dimuthu Children and Youth Association (DCYA) in 1990, which was the first project to train youth trainers on HIV AIDS and sexual health, and based on its success, 1600 young people from the Tamil and Sinhalese communities in 06 estates and related villages. A social regulatory program on SH/SRH/HIV AIDS was conducted. There, various measures were also taken to control the various addictions and unsafe behaviors of other sexually oppressed marginalized youth groups. At the same time, the urgency of alcohol and drug prevention activities had to be increased. The initiation of alcohol and drug prevention activities has been a routine activity since 1999-2000. It has the foundation and technical support from ADIC.
Awareness about toxic drugs in youth camps and HI. 1996-2000 and 2006-2010 with V AIDS and Sexual Health Program and through WUSC AND USAID GENEVA GLOBAL Youth Empowerment Programs. Again from 2015 until today, youth empowerment is also done through the Soba Shakti School and Community Environment Program and the Taruna Diriya Youth Social Empowerment Program. A new youth sexual and reproductive health project was launched through the EU-IPPF FPA SRILANKA program under Health Education and Training. Conducted a success evaluation with FPA in Bangkok, Thailand.

In the year 2021, a project was launched with CED – ASPBE to investigate youth participation in education counseling and the problems of the marginalized youth community affected by covid 19. Deiherm also works with young people of different nationalities to build a broader social discourse on civil society youth integration and political literacy, human rights and democracy. Deiherm is always ready to shoulder the social responsibility of bequeathing to the future youth a civil society with good peaceful social harmony.
